8 Students traveled to Albuquerque, New Mexico for the USKA Southwest Regional Championships on Saturday October 3, 2009. The event was hosted by Master James Hawkes, Co-Founder of the United States Karate Alliance. Complete Martial Arts brought home 18 Trophies from the event.
Mr. Mark Swalley placed 1st in Kata (forms), 1st in Chanbara and 2nd in Kumite (sparring).
Mr. John Weis placed 2nd in Kobudo (weapons), 3rd in Kata (forms) and 4th in Kumite (sparring).
Miss Shiloh Langwell placed 2nd in Kata (forms), 2nd in Kumite (sparring) and 4th in Chanbara.
Miss Carmen Tate placed 3rd in Kata (forms), 3rd in Kumite (sparring), 3rd in Kobudo (weapons) and 4th in Chanbara.
Mr. Robert Munday placed 1st in Kata (forms), 2nd in Chanbara and 3rd Kumite (sparring).
Mr. Bei Beidinger placed 3rd in Chanbara.
Mr Chris Weis placed 3rd in Kumite (sparring).
Mr Tanner Sacchi received a participation medal.

New Mexico State Banquet Awards, September 26, 2009
Two Students traveled to Santa Fe for the USKA/NMSKA New Mexico State Banquet on Saturday September 26, 2009. They where announced the 2008-2009 USKA New Mexico State Champions for their divisions.
Mr. Mark Swalley was Number 1 in the State for Kumite (sparring) and Number 1 in Kata (forms).
Miss Carmen Tate was 3rd in Kata (forms) and 5th in Kumite (sparring).
Complete Martial Arts would like to congratulate them on achieving this high award in the United States Karate Alliance and in all across New Mexico.

U.S.K.A. Nationals 2009 Tournament Resluts
Complete Martial Arts did a great job at this years Nationals. For a lot of you this was the biggest tournament you have ever competed in or been to. NATIONALS is a big Deal and You made it there. Weather we walked out of there with a trophy or not you still need to give your self a big pat on the back. At the event everyone did a great job. This years Winners at Nationals are all of us. We will go in there and get them next year.

Dr. Maiga's 12th Annual Central New Mexico Karate Championships
On 7 February, 2009 Students from Complete Martial Arts traveled to Socorro, NM to compete in Dr. Maiga's 12th Annual Central New Mexico Karate Championships.
The tournament was hosted by the Socorro Academy of martial Arts, Owned and Operated by Dr. Maiga.
The Students that won (back row, left to right): Mr. Donovan Kroeplin Placed in Black Belt Men, 2nd in Weapons, 3rd in Kata and 3rd in Sparring. Mr. Rick E. Griffith Placed in Senior Adult Men Beginners, 2nd in Sparring and 4th in Kata. Mr. Mark Swalley Placed in Adult Colored Belt Men, 1st in Kata and 1st in Sparring. Miss Carmen Tate Placed in 14-15 Teen Girls, 3rd in Kata.
